JUDGE IGNORED WARNINGS AGAINST RELEASING LITTLECLOUD
U.S. District Judge Sallie Kim, a 2015 Obama appointee, wanted to give Thomas Littlecloud, 32, a career criminal, just one more chance. And she gave him a chance to shoot three police officers, killing Sacramento County Sheriff’s Deputy Robert French. French was 52 and a 21-year veteran of the sheriff’s office.
August 24th, Littlecloud went before Judge Kim to determine if he should be detained while waiting for his trial on federal drug trafficking, counterfeiting, identity theft and weapons charges. He was facing a mandatory minimum sentence of 12 years in prison.
LITTLECLOUD CONTINUED 13-YEAR BEHAVIOR PATTERN
On August 30th, a multi-agency auto theft task force was serving search warrants at a Ramada Inn. As they were about to search a room connected to the auto theft ring, Littlecloud opened fire through the door and walls, striking two California Highway Patrol officers.
Littlecloud then went onto the balcony with a high-powered rifle and opened fire on deputies, fatally shooting Deputy Bob French in the heart. As he was dying, French managed to return fire.
The suspect fled in a vehicle and led officers on a pursuit which ended in a gunfight some miles away. Littlecloud was shot, and later died at the hospital.
WHY ARE LIBERALS SO NAÏVE?
Littlecloud tugged at Judge Kim’s heart as he told her he wanted to change his life.
“I didn’t know, that, like my life mattered, you know. So, I make decisions for myself. It was only until I was sitting in jail, like, coming down, I realized all the people I hurt,” Littlecloud told Kim.
The assistant U.S. attorney Brian Faerstein warned Judge Kim not to release Littlecloud, saying he had talked about shooting police and he had rammed police cars before to get away.
Faerstein told the judge Littlecloud had been in and out of jail and prison for 12 years, citing case after case in which Littlecloud fired guns at victims and did whatever it took to get away from police.
Faerstein even told the judge they had recordings of Littlecloud talking about using guns against police.
“Among other things, the defendant was heard (on the recording) saying that he considered shooting the police officer but then decided just to run. So it’s a consistent pattern,” Faerstein added.
Faerstein continued: “The defendant has three prior firearms convictions and yet, here again, he was carrying a gun and had another gun in his car in the same bag as where, you know, over 75 grams of pure meth was found. This is conduct that is continuing and it’s, it’s, he’s not learning from his past mistakes.”
“THIS IS YOUR ONE SHOT”
Judge Kim spoke personally to Littlecloud as he was leaving the courthouse:
“This is your one shot,” Judge Kim said. “You know, this is your one chance to get treatment for your problems and I hope that it works for you but I’m very worried. I have to be honest with you, I’m very concerned and so this is your chance to prove us all wrong that you can do it.”
This is your one shot. Say what? The judge did indeed give Littlecloud one more shot and he used it to kill Deputy French.
Judge Sallie Kim may have graduated from law school, but she flunked out in the school of common sense. She should be removed from the bench before her rulings kill anyone else.
LIBERAL LOGIC: WORDS SPEAK LOUDER THAN ACTIONS
Didn’t Judge Kim ever learn that “actions speak louder than words?” She ignored THIRTEEN YEARS of Littlecloud’s behavior but listened to his sob story.
Littlecloud’s rap sheet began in 2004 when he was 19. He spent time in prison for grand theft, vehicle theft, assault with a semi-automatic weapon, illegal possession of a gun and evading a police officer.
Judge Kim sure has a different view of gun possession than the Portland (OR) judge who recently convicted a law-abiding citizen of 21 counts for MERELY displaying his handgun as a crowd of Black Lives Matter thugs surrounded him.
This is just one more example of Liberal Logic. Unfortunately, Bob French paid for it with is life. RIP Deputy, and thank you for dedicating your life to protecting Americans.
