Greg Abbott Is One Of The Most Popular Republican Governors In The United States
He’s Loved By Millions Of Texans And Has An Approval Rating Above 60%
It’s no secret Democrats are trying to turn Texas blue. They know if they do that, they will win every single major Presidental election until the end of time. Hopefully, that’s not going to happen. Austin, Texas seems to be the only real blue dot in the big red state. Liberals have ruined Austin, and the “Keep Austin Weird” nickname is slowly going away. Austin has become a cesspool of liberal, and illegal garbage. I wouldn’t even consider Austin liberal. Gentrification has destroyed the inner city and has pushed thousands to the outskirts.
Texas’s first Hispanic female sheriff said she will run against Republican Gov. Greg Abbott in 2018.
Democrat Lupe Valdez has been the sheriff of Dallas County for 12 years. Her announcement Wednesday makes her the most prominent Democrat in the race after bigger names passed on trying to break Republicans’ 22-year hold on the Texas governor’s mansion.
The 70-year-old Valdez is an Army veteran and was Texas’ first openly gay female sheriff. She’s clashed with Abbott over federal immigration detainers and said opportunity is “out of reach” for many Texans.
Valdez will resign as sheriff to run for governor. She’ll be an underdog in Texas, which hasn’t elected a Democrat to a statewide office since 1994.
“Like so many hardworking Texans, I know it’s tough deciding between buying food, finding a decent place to live, and setting aside money for college tuition. Opportunity in Texas ought to be as big as this great state, but it is out of reach for far too many, that’s why I’m running for Texas Governor,” said Lupe Valdez. “I’m a proud Texas Democrat. I believe good government can make people’s lives better, and I intend to do just that.”
Several other lesser-known Democrats are also running. Abbott has no serious GOP challenger. Via Fox 7
Texas Democrats believe they can turn Texas blue in 2018. Remember when they tried to put up Abortion Barbie Wendy Davis? Yeah, that ended well! They saw a white woman wouldn’t work. Now they’re going to put up a Hispanic female. That’s not going to work as well. It would work if she were a Republican with Texas Republican values. However, this isn’t the case. Lupe is a progressive Democrat from Dallas. Sorry, but Greg Abbott will wipe the floor with her!
